Terrestrial Ecology

NatureBureau provides a comprehensive range of ecological services to both the public and private sectors. Key capabilities include habitat surveys, specialist species surveys, detailed botanical monitoring, site evaluations and the development of site management plans. We have experience in writing national and regional biodiversity and habitat action plans and developing Biodiversity Action Plans for large commercial businesses.

Supporting its core services, the UK terrestrial ecology team also has Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and data handling capabilities plus a wealth of experience in preparing project reports.

NatureBureau’s international terrestrial ecology services include initiating, assisting with the development of and implementing a wide range of international environmental and conservation projects, including many in Eastern Europe and East Asia.

NatureBureau has international expertise in the conservation of grasslands, birds, wetlands and desert ecosystems and is currently the focal point for Action Theme 8 (Grasslands) of the Pan-European Biological and Landscape Diversity Strategy. The Bureau’s Geographic Information Systems (GIS) expertise has contributed to several projects needing to show the current state of habitats, observe the effects of management and forecast future changes. Locations of some recent international projects include Romania, the Ukraine, Russia and Hong Kong.
