Lissa Batey

Lissa Batey is Senior Marine Ecologist. She has a doctorate in the ecology and conservation of the harbour porpoise along the west coast of the UK and a BSc. (Hons) in marine biology, both from Plymouth University. Lissa has worked in marine conservation for over 20 years, having originally spent six years working at sea on a research vessel whilst teaching marine biology, fisheries management and dolphin behaviour and 15 years at The Wildlife Trusts where she became Head of Marine Conservation and managed a broad portfolio of marine work including the designation and management of Marine Protected Areas, fisheries and aquaculture and marine spatial planning and prioritisation, whilst aiming to achieve nature’s recovery at sea. She is a member of the advisory board for the Devon Environment Foundation and the South West Marine Ecosystems Steering Group. Further afield she also supports the development of a new foundation for Antigua and Barbuda.
